The innovative test looks for 10 specific proteins in a single test, replacing the standard method which requires up to four tests and has a detection rate of only 30%. The study included 123 Lyme disease patients and 197 uninfected people. This finding is crucial given that more than 475,000 Americans are diagnosed with the disease each year, and delayed diagnosis can lead to chronic health problems.
