The research included nearly 23,000 samples and showed that coffee drinkers more frequently develop Lawsonibacter asaccharolyticus, a bacterium that helps break down polyphenols in coffee and produces butyric acid, essential for gut health. The study showed that beneficial bacteria are present in significantly higher amounts among coffee drinkers, and that moderate consumption can provide important health benefits, including reducing inflammation and protecting against metabolic diseases.
