In the last month, the Romanian online press has intensively covered the 2025 Baccalaureate, with a focus on the results and the organization of the exam. The pass rate before appeals was 74.3%, according to official data, one of the highest in recent years. Some 105,000 candidates sat the exams, with Cluj, Bacău and Iași counties above the national average. An administrative novelty was the visualization phase of the papers, scheduled between June 20 and 24, which attracted students' interest.
This analysis was conducted with the help of NewsVibe, a media intelligence platform and automated analytics tool for online and social media. As a result, the monitoring of online conversations identifies around 5,200 mentions of Baccalaureat in the last month, with an estimated impact of nearly 75 million views.
On June 10, the date with the maximum estimated impact, the conversation was marked by two main trends. On the one hand, there was the Beach, Please! festival's initiative to reward students who achieve a grade 10 average with free admission. On the other hand, there was a wide-ranging discussion about the difficulty of the Romanian Language and Literature exam subjects, in particular the strict essay requirements and the risks of losing points through careless wording or compound requirements.
The peak of the mentions came on June 20, when the publication of exam results was discussed, with a focus on regional differences in promotability. Counties in the west and center of the country dominated the national rankings, while some areas in the south and east remained significantly below average. Also a point of discussion was the possibility for students to view their papers before appeals, which could be submitted on June 23 and 24, with final results expected on June 30.
