And this week we return with some activities for which you should get out of the house. This week is the Night of Museums, so here's a tip: even if you're not from Bucharest, you'll still find something open in your city. Otherwise, we found a wide range of activities, including for the little ones.


Night of Museums 2026 – May 16, 18:00 - 02:00, Various museums in Bucharest, central point National Museum of Romanian History, Calea Victoriei 12 (Public transport: M2 University Square, M1/M3 Union Square, Bus 100, 205)

The annual edition of the Night of Museums brings special nocturnal exhibition circuits, performances in the inner courtyards of cultural institutions, and access to usually inaccessible collections. It is the largest one-off community cultural event of spring, offering animated pedestrian routes throughout the city center.


Open Streets – Bucharest, Urban Promenade – May 16-17, 10:00 - 21:00, Calea Victoriei (Public transport: M2 Victory Square, M2 University Square, Bus 100, 205)

The central segment of Calea Victoriei becomes exclusively pedestrian for two days. This special mid-May edition brings outdoor reading workshops organized by public libraries, street exhibitions of documentary photography, and micro-recitals of classical music performed by students from local art schools.


The show "Games in the Backyard" – May 17, 19:00, Romanian Playwrights Theatre, Calea Griviței 64-66 (Public transport: M1/M2 Victory Square, Bus 100, 205, 381)

A provocative stage adaptation of the play written by Edna Mazia, focused on group psychology and adolescent responsibility. The performance, created by a young troupe of independent actors, proposes an intense debate through theatrical language about choices and moral consequences, followed by a short discussion session with the audience.


Mathmatrix | IDM & Experimental Session – May 15, 22:00, Control Club, Str. Constantin Mille 4 (Public transport: M2 University Square, Bus 100, 381)

A night dedicated to avant-garde electronic music, focused on Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) genres and experimental sound design. The event brings together local producers passionate about modular synthesis and complex rhythmic structures, offering a platform for interaction for the underground community passionate about alternative audio-visual culture. Entry costs 10 lei.


Informative Workshop: Atopic Dermatitis and Respiratory Allergies – May 19, 18:00, Seneca Anticafe, Str. Arhitect Ion Mincu 1 (Public transport: M2 Victory Square, Bus 381, 205)

An open meeting with specialists in the medical field dedicated to managing seasonal spring ailments. The discussion offers practical non-formal advice on prevention, triggering factors from the urban environment, and methods to alleviate respiratory symptoms, in an interactive format where participants can ask direct questions and share experiences in managing these sensitivities.

A collective outdoor training focused on calisthenics, mobility, and functional movement. The event encourages abandoning a sedentary lifestyle and using urban green spaces for group physical activities, being open to all levels of fitness and providing a conducive environment for socializing among recreational sports enthusiasts.


Made in RO #17 – Designist Fair – May 16-17, 11:00 - 20:00, Casa Universitarilor, Str. Dionisie Lupu 46 (Public transport: M2 Roman Square, Bus 137, 336)

The 17th edition of the renowned fair focuses on interior design objects, accessories, and decorations created exclusively by Romanian artists. The space is designed as a cultural and commercial networking hub, allowing visitors to interact directly with designers, understand the sustainable production process, and discover new trends in local decorative art. Entry costs 10 lei.


Theater Show "Don Quijote" – May 16, 17:00, Calea Victoriei, George Enescu Square area (Public transport: M2 Victory Square, M2 University Square, Bus 100, 205)

A dynamic and humorous street stage adaptation inspired by the famous work of Miguel de Cervantes, adapted for urban public space. Concrete – Album Launch Concert at Encore – May 16, 21:00, Encore Club, Str. Nicolae Golescu 16 (Public transport: M2 Roman Square, Bus 100, 381)

The official launch event of the new discography material of the alternative band Concrete. The concert brings original compositions and modern riffs to the stage, offering a dynamic evening aimed at the community passionate about live music and an underground setting conducive to meetings and discussions among music lovers.
