The European Union will implement, starting in 2027, significant changes for mobile phones, aimed at reducing electronic waste and extending the lifespan of devices.
A new regulation, known as the 'right to repair', requires manufacturers to provide spare parts for 10 years for all products, including phones. This way, users will be able to repair devices instead of throwing them away.
New phones will need to have 'long-lasting' batteries, capable of withstanding numerous charges without deteriorating quickly. Additionally, users will be able to change batteries easily, without needing costly service visits.
These measures aim to create more durable and sustainable products, encouraging consumers to invest in phones that do not break down quickly.
