The European People's Party (EPP) calls on the European Commission to intensify checks regarding the allocation of European funds and to exclude from funding organizations that it considers associated with radicalized Islamist movements. In a resolution adopted in Vienna, the EPP states that it makes a distinction between Islam as a religion and political Islam as an ideology and calls for the mapping of Islamist networks, verification of external funding, strengthening cooperation among member states, and the development of a common framework for identifying attempts to infiltrate European institutions.
