The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued the forecast for Monday, February 16, announcing a considerable cooling of the weather across the country. Temperatures will continue to drop, and the atmosphere will become unstable, with persistent clouds and precipitation in various areas. The sky will be variable to mostly cloudy, and in the evening and night, precipitation is expected, especially in the west and south of the country, which will be in the form of rain, sleet, or snow, depending on temperatures. At high altitudes, snow will predominate, refreshing the snow cover.
The wind will be of low to moderate intensity, but in the south and southeast, gusts can reach 45-55 km/h, accentuating the feeling of cold. Maximum temperatures will vary significantly, from -6 degrees in northern Moldova to about 11 degrees in the extreme south. Minimum temperatures will be negative in most regions, reaching -10 degrees in the eastern depressions of Transylvania, while on the coast they will be higher, around 3 degrees. Frost and ice may appear in the morning and at night. In Bucharest, the weather will cool down, with maximums of 7 degrees and minimums between -3 and -1 degree, and the wind will blow moderately.
