After the polls closed, Nicușor Dan sent a message of moderation, emphasizing the importance of caution in interpreting the first exit-polls, which do not include votes from the diaspora. He thanked supporters, donors and volunteers for their support to his campaign. According to the exit-polls, George Simion leads with 33.1%, followed by Crin Antonescu and Nicușor Dan, who are in a tight race for second place.
