<p>In the last week of the campaign, George Simion, who was in Italy, sent a video message in which he avoided a confrontation with Nicușor Dan, saying that the latter should "run after him, not the other way around". Simion blamed his absence from the debates, saying he would have been better off at a rally in Poland. Simion announced that he would attend a student debate, but avoided direct confrontation with Dan.
