The 'Carol Davila' University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest has been ranked first in Romania in the 2026 edition of the SCImago Institutions Rankings, according to a press release from the institution. This represents an improvement compared to the previous year, when UMFCD ranked 1st among Romanian universities and 2nd in the overall ranking, after the Romanian Academy.
Rector Viorel Jinga emphasized that this result reflects the strategy of academic excellence and relevant research, as well as the commitment of the university community. The SCImago ranking evaluates universities based on research performance, innovation, and societal impact, and UMFCD continues to demonstrate concrete and sustainable results in these areas.
