The Cluj-Napoca Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases received a Certificate of Appreciation for “Digitizing Laboratory Workflows” at the Champions of Healthcare Innovation 2026 – Leadership Forum, organized by the U.S. Embassy in Romania in Bucharest. The distinction recognizes the project to digitally modernize the unit’s medical services and IT infrastructure.
The project “Development of Digital Systems at the Cluj-Napoca Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases – eSCBI,” supported by the Cluj County Council, included equipping the hospital with technology designed to optimize medical care and patient flows. The digitalization primarily aims to make laboratory operations more efficient and improve the management of medical information.
Cluj County Council President Alin Tișe congratulated the hospital staff and said that investments in healthcare contribute to providing medical services at European standards.
According to the indicators on the Performance of Romania’s Public Hospitals in 2025, published by the National Health Insurance House (CNAS) in August, the Cluj-based unit ranks first nationwide in terms of the quality of the clinical and paraclinical investigations provided to patients. In addition, the Cluj County Council signed a contract worth 20.7 million lei, financed through European funds, for the hospital’s thermal rehabilitation and energy efficiency improvements.
