Students protest on September 28 against mandatory uniforms: “Bullying does not stop if we wear the same shirt”

The National Council of Students (CNE) is organizing a national protest on Monday, September 28, 2026, against the bill that could introduce mandatory uniforms in schools. Students who disagree with the measure are invited to wear black clothes to classes, in order to draw attention to the right to choose and to the fact that they were not consulted during the legislative process.

Participation in the action is voluntary. CNE specifies that students may wear a single black item of clothing, without the protest affecting the conduct of classes. “On September 28, we choose to wear the same color to defend our right to choose in the future,” the representative organization of students states.

The bill concerning the introduction of mandatory school uniforms was approved by the Senate. The final decision, however, belongs to the Chamber of Deputies, which is due to debate and vote on the legislative act. Through the announced protest, CNE wants to convey the students’ position to lawmakers before a final decision is adopted.
