Romania, world champion at the "FIRST Tech Challenge" Robotics Championship / Romanians dominated the entire podium

Romania has won the title of world champion for the third time at the FIRST World Championship, held in Houston, one of the largest international robotics competitions for high school students.

This year's edition was marked by the dominance of Romanian teams, with the final taking place between Velocity from Brăila and Heart of Robots from Buzău, while the Brăila team won the trophy. Romania occupied the top four places in the world ranking, with Quantum Robotics from Bucharest and AiCitizens from Focșani in third and fourth places.

The Velocity Robotics Team from Brăila is the third team from our country to win the competition, after AICitizen from the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" College in Focșani in 2024, and Delta Force from the National College of Informatics in Arad in 2022.

Dana Războiu, the founder of the NGO Nație prin Educație, emphasized that this victory is the result of 10 years of work in STEM education.

The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan congratulated the teams for their remarkable performances, highlighting the seriousness and professionalism of young Romanians in the field of robotics. This achievement demonstrates the positive impact of investments in education.
