The Minister of Education, Daniel David, stressed that salary cuts or dismissals in the education system are not taken into account, thus responding to fears related to a possible teachers' strike. While acknowledging that some of the unions' demands are legitimate, he criticized the circulation of erroneous information and clarified that there is no talk of abolishing tenure or reducing research staff, stressing that the system needs more researchers.
