Education Minister Daniel David has proposed increasing the minimum number of pupils required for a school to have legal personality from 300 to 500. This measure would free up around 900 headteacher positions, which would return to teaching. The aim is to reduce fragmentation in the education system and concentrate resources in larger and more efficient school units.
