Education Minister Daniel David said he could not confirm with certainty the date of September 8 for the start of the new school year because of tensions over the government's fiscal measures affecting teachers. He stressed that the measures are temporary and crisis measures, not reform, and called for preparations for the new school year. He also mentioned an increase of the teaching norm by two hours, recognizing the impact of the protests on this issue. David promoted the idea of finding medium and long-term solutions for the education system.
