Education Minister Daniel David supports the right of teachers to offer tutoring, but underlines the need to control it and ban it during working hours. He compares tutoring to other professions, such as doctors who also work in the private sector. David also points out that teachers should avoid conflicts of interest and not affect the quality of education at school. Under current legislation, a teacher cannot tutor students in his or her class.
