The official data published by ANOFM shows that Romania is facing a high number of unemployed individuals, with a national rate of 3.21% in October 2025, an increase compared to the previous month. Teleorman County stands out with the highest unemployment rate of 9.16%, followed by Mehedinți and Vaslui. Out of a total of 256,851 unemployed, over 201,000 are not receiving benefits. Additionally, 33 counties reported increases in the number of unemployed, and the differences between urban and rural areas are significant, with nearly 187,000 unemployed coming from rural areas. In contrast, 146,025 people were employed during the period from January to November 2025, the majority having completed high school. Bucharest, Iași, and Timiș are the counties with the most hires, highlighting regional imbalances in the labor market.
