Transelectrica announced that the data regarding electricity production and consumption displayed on its website were erroneous on Tuesday, between 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM, due to a technical malfunction.
The operator explained that, starting from 11:00 AM, the production value remained stuck at 5,873 MW, while the automatically calculated consumption increased artificially, reaching values of over 8,000 MW. This error was corrected at 9:00 PM, and the correct values were republished at 10:20 PM.
The Ministry of Energy requested consumers to voluntarily reduce consumption between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM, against the backdrop of a national state of alert due to low Danube water levels. Additionally, Unit 1 at Cernavodă was controlled shut down on July 28, and Nuclearelectrica announced the possible shutdown of Unit 2 on August 13.
The incident did not affect the operation of the energy system, but only the data publishing platform.
