The National Institute of Statistics (INS) reported a 1.6% increase in the turnover of wholesale trade (excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles) in the first nine months of 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year. This development was supported by increases in intermediary activities (+11.1%), non-specialized trade (+10.2%) and trade in consumer goods (+5.7%). However, there were decreases in trade with raw agricultural products (-6.4%) and food (-1.7%).
In September 2025, turnover increased by 9.5% compared to August, with notable advances in IT equipment trade (+37.4%). Compared to September 2024, turnover increased by 5.8%, with positive developments in trade with raw agricultural products (+28.8%) and intermediary activities (+17.2%). However, trade in food products recorded a decrease of -0.6%. These data reflect a varied dynamics in the wholesale trade sector.
