The industrial turnover recorded a significant decrease in January 2026, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Compared to December 2025, the turnover decreased by 16.3%, influenced by the decline in the extractive industry (-19%) and in the manufacturing industry (-16.2%).
Among the major industrial groups, the largest decreases were recorded in the capital goods industry (-23.4%) and in the consumer goods industry (-21.6%). However, the durable goods industry experienced a growth of 6%.
Compared to January 2025, the industrial turnover decreased by 4.3%, due to declines in the extractive sector (-12.8%) and manufacturing (-4%).
The energy industry decreased by 10.6%, while intermediate goods fell by 7.7%. In contrast, the capital goods industry grew by 0.8%.
