The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, announced that ANAF collected 130 billion lei in the period from July to September 2025, which is 11% more compared to the same period last year, emphasizing that the institution is undergoing a major transformation process. According to the minister, the direction is clear – professionalization, digitalization, and responsibility – aimed at modernizing an essential institution that has long been perceived as inefficient. Nazare highlighted the role of the new president of ANAF, Adrian Nica, in leading this change process and mentioned the creation of the Special Operations Division, which investigates major tax evasion cases. "Romania needs a modern, fair, and efficient tax administration. And this process has begun," the minister conveyed.
