Invited to the 'Marius Tucă Show', retired General Dorin Toma announced that the anti-aircraft guns ordered by the Romanian Army have not been delivered so far.
Toma, former commander of the NATO Multinational Division Southeast, mentioned that although the contract for the modernization of the four systems has probably been paid, the deliveries are scheduled for the end of 2025. The project began in 2021 when the need to replace outdated equipment was identified.
The contract was signed in December 2023, and the delivery of the first two systems was supposed to take place two years after the signing. Toma emphasized that the deliveries include not only the systems but also logistics, training, and medium- and long-term maintenance.
He also mentioned that the delivery schedule is unclear, and the solutions proposed by Rheinmetall are compatible with the modernization project of the existing facilities.
