Brothers Dragoș and Adrian Pavăl are preparing to build a new Dedeman store in the commune of Dumbrăvița, Timiș County, approximately five kilometers from Timișoara. The project also includes a shopping gallery and is expected to become the second-largest store in the company’s portfolio.
According to information published by Economica.net, the store will be built near the IKEA store opened in 2023 and will have an area of 21,909 square meters. The shopping gallery will cover an additional 17,161 square meters, bringing the total complex to more than 39,000 square meters. The project also includes a 322-square-meter building intended for food-service businesses.
Dumbrăvița Mayor Horia Bugarin said the investment would be the largest private investment in the locality’s history. The value of the project has not been publicly disclosed.
The expansion in Timiș comes after the project announced by the Pavăl brothers in Rădăuți, where a Dedeman store accompanied by a shopping gallery is planned. The company currently operates 65 stores in Romania, ranging from 7,500 to 18,000 square meters, with a portfolio of more than 60,000 products.
The investment in Dumbrăvița brings Dedeman’s expansion plans back into the spotlight after the Pavăl brothers completed the acquisition of Carrefour Romania in an €823 million transaction.
