Damen Shipyards has rejected the reorganization plan of the Mangalia Shipyard, which will lead to the opening of bankruptcy proceedings, according to an announcement from the National Trade Union Bloc. This decision has serious consequences for employees, who risk losing their jobs, considering that they have not received salaries for over three months.

During the General Assembly of Creditors, Damen confirmed the failure of the reorganization procedure, which will lead to the forced inventory and liquidation of assets to cover debts.

Trade unionists emphasize the major social impact of this situation at the local level and request the intervention of the Romanian state to protect the affected employees. Employee protests in the unit's yard highlight their dissatisfaction with the delay in salaries.
