The turnover in industry in Romania increased by 3.2% in 2025, supported by the extractive and processing sector.

The National Institute of Statistics (INS) reported a 3.2% increase in industrial turnover in 2025 compared to 2024, due to the advance recorded in the extractive industry (+9.5%) and in the manufacturing industry (+2.9%).

In the major industrial groups, significant increases were observed in the industry of durable goods (+7%), capital goods (+4%), consumer goods (+3.9%), and intermediate goods (+3.2%). However, the energy industry experienced a decrease of 5.3%. In December 2025, turnover decreased by 6.7% compared to the previous month, influenced by declines in the extractive industry (-8.7%) and manufacturing (-6.7%). In contrast, compared to December 2024, turnover increased by 6.1%, supported by the manufacturing industry (+6.4%), while the extractive industry decreased by 0.9%. Notable increases were recorded in the capital goods industry (+8.5%) and consumer goods (+7.3%).
