The Romanian government has decided to allow local authorities to organize festive events until the end of the year, reversing the restrictions imposed by Ordinance 52. This will exempt expenses for the days of communes, towns, public holidays, and cultural events from the regulations that limited the expenses of local authorities. Additionally, public health units will have no spending limits for goods and services, and expenses for social assistance will also be without restriction.
The government has also approved exceptions for projects funded by external sources and for consulting, thus maintaining the capacity of authorities to carry out essential activities. These measures are not new, considering that previous governments have adopted similar measures to control the budget deficit at the end of the year.
