The Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu, announced that the reimbursement from the European Commission (EC) confirms that the payments to farmers are correct and eligible. As a result of the reimbursement made on Monday, the total amounts received from the European Commission in the period 2025–2026 reach approximately 4.08 billion euros, including all European funds managed by Romania. These reimbursements ensure the continuity of financial flows for the payment campaign and reduce pressure on the national budget, as the funds are reimbursed by the EC. The Ministry of Agriculture, through the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA), will continue to authorize and pay the amounts to ensure that farmers receive the necessary support on time.
