The European Commission announced the allocation of 150 billion euros through the SAFE mechanism to support European defense, with Romania benefiting from 16.68 billion euros. The spokesperson, Thomas Regnier, emphasized that all member states will have the same attractive interest rate. Each country must present its plans for using the funds by November 30, having the freedom to decide its own policies in the field of defense. The SAFE mechanism aims to stimulate industrial cooperation and reduce fragmentation in the defense market.
