Several Rompetrol gas stations in Constanța, with 25 years of activity, are at risk of closing after the City Hall refused to extend the partnership contracts. KMG International warns that this decision will have a negative impact on the local economy, employees, and mobility in the city. The closure of the three units will affect 80 jobs and will limit access to fuels in certain neighborhoods, distorting competition in the local market. Rompetrol has requested a reassessment of the situation and proposed solutions to avoid closure, but all have been rejected by local authorities. The affected gas stations offer extensive services, including fuel supply, fast payment facilities, and first aid points. Their closure would also disrupt the activity of CT Bus, the public transport company in Constanța, which relies on fuel supplied by Rompetrol. Although the Rompetrol brand may be diminished in the city, the company continues to operate other stations and emphasizes its significant contribution to the national and local budget.
