The Indian multinational Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, known for owning the Terapia factory in Romania, has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Organon, an active American rival in the Romanian market. The transaction, valued at nearly 11.8 billion dollars, represents the largest international acquisition made by an Indian company to date. This strategic move underscores Sun Pharma's intention to expand its portfolio and presence in international markets.

Organon, specialized in pharmaceutical products, will add value and diversity to Sun Pharma's offerings, thereby strengthening its position in the global market for generic and OTC drugs. This acquisition reflects the consolidation trends in the pharmaceutical industry, in the context of increasing competition and demand for innovative health solutions.
