Stellantis relaunches diesel engines for Peugeot 308 and DS 4 in Europe after weak sales of electric vehicles and the relaxation of EU emission targets.

The automotive group Stellantis has decided to reintroduce diesel engines in its European offering, starting at the end of 2025. This move includes popular models such as the Peugeot 308 and the premium DS 4 hatchback, as well as various passenger utility vehicles.

The decision was made in response to the increased demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles, in the context of rising sales of electric and hybrid vehicles.
