Victor Schwartz, the owner of a wine company in New York, has become a symbol of the fight against the tariffs imposed by Donald Trump, managing to cancel these taxes, considered the highest since 1930. Schwartz took legal action, becoming the lead plaintiff for dozens of small companies affected by these tariffs, which risk bankruptcy due to their dependence on imported products.

With the help of a non-profit law firm, they challenged the legality of the tariffs, arguing that Trump did not have the authority to impose them without a vote from Congress. The Supreme Court ruled in their favor, with 6 votes for and 3 against, which opened the way for the reimbursement of 134 billion dollars, collected by the federal government until 2025, for over 300,000 affected companies. Schwartz is now awaiting the reimbursement of these improperly charged taxes.
