According to INS data, the year 2025 brought notable increases in Romanian agriculture, with an expansion of areas and yields for the main crops. The areas cultivated with grain crops increased by 0.7%, while production rose by 37.2%, mainly due to higher yields. Wheat accounted for 45.3% of the total cereal area, and its production increased by 36.6%. Leguminous crops for grains recorded an impressive increase of 93.7% in production.

For oilseeds, production increased by 60.9%, and the cultivated area by 11%. In contrast, fruit production from orchards decreased by 12.9%. Romania ranks among the top in Europe for the cultivated area and production of corn and sunflower, but for potatoes, it ranks sixth in area and ninth in production. These statistics reflect significant agricultural developments in the country.
