In January 2026, the volume of retail trade (excluding vehicles and motorcycles) recorded a significant decrease.

In raw terms, the decrease was 25.3% compared to the previous month, driven by a reduction in sales of non-food products (-27.7%), fuels for vehicles (-26.6%) and food products, beverages and tobacco (-21.5%).

In terms of the adjusted series, the decrease was 3.7%, influenced by sales of non-food products (-5.5%), fuels (-5.2%) and a slight reduction in food products, beverages and tobacco (-0.1%).

This trend reflects a general decline in consumption across various sectors of trade.
