French drugmaker Sanofi is to invest €1.3 billion in a new insulin production plant at its Frankfurt headquarters.

The investment will lead to the construction of a 36,000-square-meter facility that will replace Sanofi's current insulin production plant in Frankfurt by 2029. The decision comes after Sanofi changed its original plans to move Lantus insulin production to France.
