The Interim Minister of Labor, Dragoș Pîslaru, presented the new salary law on Monday, emphasizing that its purpose is not to compare salaries between different professions. Pîslaru explained that his salary will increase by 22%, which is 2,500 lei, but insisted that the salary scale is based on objective equivalences, not on subjective decisions. The law was developed to correct inequities in the salary system, without making comparisons between professions such as doctors, teachers, or parliamentarians. PNL, PSD, USR, and UDMR have signed a political agreement for the adoption of the law by the end of the current parliamentary session, considering that this is an important milestone in the PNRR, with a deadline of July 1, 2026. Failure to adopt the law on time could lead to significant financial losses for Romania.
