Romania's economy grew by 1.2% in the second quarter of 2025, but only by 0.3% compared to the previous year, a sign that it is moving slowly

According to the National Institute of Statistics, Romania's Gross Domestic Product increased by 1.2% in Q2 2025 compared to the previous quarter, but only by 0.3% compared to the same quarter of 2024. In the first quarter of 2025, GDP grew by 0.3% compared with the first quarter of 2024. Recent data revisions have shown an adjustment to previous results, and the Finance Minister warned of the risks of a possible recession.
