Romania concludes the 2025-2026 commercial year as the largest exporter of cereals in the European Union, according to data from the European Commission. Romanian farmers delivered over 6 million tons of cereals, which represents 33% of the total exports made by EU member states. This quantity is significantly higher compared to the same period last year, when exports amounted to approximately 5 million tons. Romania is at the top of the European ranking for wheat exports, with 3.5 million tons, surpassing France, which had a weaker production. Additionally, Romania is also a leader in corn exports, with over 260,000 tons, and in barley, with nearly 2 million tons delivered.
