Alin Andrieș, secretary of state in the Ministry of Finance, said Romania risks the suspension of European funds if it does not adopt effective measures to reduce the budget deficit by October 15. The ECOFIN Council stressed that the country has not responded adequately to European recommendations, which could lead to additional measures. Romania needs to adjust its net spending to comply with the limits set, aiming for a fiscal deficit below 3% of GDP by 2030.
