President Nicușor Dan declared that Romania has taken an important step towards joining the OECD by enacting a law that strengthens integrity rules in public institutions. This law introduces complex measures, including clear restrictions before and after the exercise of public functions, aimed at preventing conflicts of interest. The law regulates a 'reflection' period of 12 months, the obligation to submit declarations before and after employment, as well as a verification mechanism managed by the National Integrity Agency. Individuals with sensitive responsibilities in administration will have restrictions regarding activities carried out during the pre and post-employment period.

Nicușor Dan emphasizes that this legislative adjustment is not only internal but also an essential condition for Romania's accession to the OECD, demonstrating the country's commitment to transparency and accountability in the functioning of public institutions.
