Romania is awaiting the verdict of the rating agency Moody's on Friday, one of the three major international financial evaluation agencies. The decision is closely monitored by the Government, investors, and financial markets, as it can influence the costs at which the state borrows.

Currently, Romania has a Baa3 rating from Moody's, with a negative outlook, the last step in the category recommended for investments. A downgrade by one notch would place the country's rating in the speculative category, which could put pressure on financing costs.

Before Moody's decision, interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan sent a message on Friday morning warning about the need to continue reforms.
