The volume of retail trade turnover recorded a decrease of 5.7% in June 2026 as a raw series and 7.3% as a seasonally adjusted series, compared to the same month of the previous year, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
At the same time, in June 2026, the volume of retail trade turnover, excluding the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles, recorded an increase of 0.5% compared to May 2026. However, when the data is adjusted based on the number of working days and seasonality, a decrease of 1.2% was observed.
Significant increases were reported in the trade of fuels for motor vehicles in specialized stores, with an advance of 6.6%, and in the sales of non-food products, which increased by 0.8%.
In contrast, sales of food products, beverages, and tobacco decreased by 3.1%, highlighting a mixed trend in the retail trade sector.
