According to preliminary data published by Eurostat, the total number of nights spent in tourist accommodation structures in the European Union reached a record level in 2025, reaching 3.08 billion. This represents an increase of 61.5 million compared to 2024, mainly supported by international tourists, who contributed approximately 46.1 million nights. The most overnight stays were recorded in hotels and similar accommodation units, with 1.9 billion nights, followed by vacation homes and campsites. Although most EU countries reported increases, Romania recorded a decrease of 1% in 2025 compared to the previous year.
