On the morning of December 11, the Petrom station on Brașov Street in Bucharest displayed a price of 7.47 lei per liter for gasoline and 7.66 lei for diesel. This represents a decrease of 4 bani per liter for diesel, in the context where the price of gasoline remained constant. This is the fifth price change this month, all being consecutive decreases. Since the beginning of the month, diesel has had a cumulative decrease of 19 bani per liter, after a significant increase in previous months. Petrom, the leader in the fuel distribution market in Romania, expects other chains of gas stations to follow this trend. Additionally, a new increase in fuel prices is anticipated on January 1, 2026, due to rising excise duties, which will lead to an increase in prices of 34 bani per liter for gasoline and 30 bani for diesel.
