Several members of the OPEC+ alliance are preparing to approve an increase in production quotas at the meeting scheduled for Sunday, following the withdrawal of the United Arab Emirates from the group. Seven countries will participate in the meeting, and the plan aims for an increase in production for the month of June, similar to those in April and May. However, this increase will be diminished by the removal of the UAE's contribution, estimated at about 18,000 barrels per day. Before the UAE's surprise withdrawal, OPEC+ had planned an increase of about 206,000 barrels per day. The final decision has not been formalized, and discussions are ongoing. Most producers are facing difficulties in actually increasing production due to supply disruptions caused by the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz limits oil transport from the region. OPEC has not provided an official comment on this matter.
