OMV AG reported a 4% decrease in hydrocarbon production in the second quarter of 2026, reaching 291,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, despite rising benchmark oil prices influenced by the conflict in the Middle East.
The refining margin increased significantly, reaching $20.3 per barrel of oil equivalent, compared to $8.10 in the same period of 2025. The average price of a barrel of Brent crude rose by 53%, reaching $103.85. Operating profit increased by 65%, to €1.706 billion, while net debt rose by 55%, to €4.992 billion. The number of employees decreased by 30%.
OMV expects hydrocarbon production to be between 280,000 and 290,000 barrels per day in 2026. CEO Alfred Stern highlighted the company's achievements, including the start of production at the gas fields in Wittau and progress in the Neptun Deep project.
Emma Delaney will take over as CEO in September 2026.
