President Nicușor Dan stated that he does not see a risk of Romania being classified as a 'junk' state, emphasizing the importance of political stability in the evaluations of rating agencies. He mentioned that as long as the deficit targets are met, there are no reasons for concern.

The first evaluation delegation will arrive on July 18, and the report is expected at the end of the month. Nicușor Dan confirmed that the budget approved by Parliament in March will remain unchanged, which contributes to better management of the deficit.

The preliminary figures for the first 5-6 months are promising, and the president believes that Romania is performing better than forecasted. He emphasized that the country's evaluation depends on rating agencies and reiterated the need to convince investors of Romania's economic stability. The junk category refers to states with a high risk of defaulting on financial obligations.
