The NBR's exchange rate announced on Thursday shows a slight appreciation of the leu against the euro, but a depreciation against the dollar and a rise in the price of gold.

The National Bank of Romania announced an official exchange rate of 5.0764 lei for the euro, down from 5.0770 lei. The dollar appreciated to 4.4386 lei from 4.3974 lei and the pound sterling was quoted at 5.8741 lei, down from 5.8792 lei. The Swiss franc fell to RON 5.4564 and the price of gold rose to RON 472.1813 per gram.
