The National Bank of Romania published the official exchange rate, showing an appreciation of the leu against the pound sterling, which reached 5.8482 lei. The euro was quoted at 5.0578 lei and the US dollar at 4.3387 lei, both down slightly. Other currencies, such as the Australian and Canadian dollars, also fell, while the Swiss franc appreciated. Gold rose to 466.1103 lei, while variations were also seen in other international currencies, with an overall stable trend.
